Introducing Su
Hello! I'm Su, a passionate history enthusiast and tour guide based in Glasgow. My love for history began in my high school days, where I was an active member of the history club. Though I pursued a career in life sciences, my fascination with Scotland's rich history never left me. Over the years, I found myself spending my free time guiding friends and visitors around towns and cities, sharing stories and uncovering hidden gems. It wasn't long before other guides encouraged me to take this passion full-time—and now, as I enjoy my retirement, I'm doing just that.
With over five years of experience as a professional tour guide, I offer private walking tours and customised experiences. I also provide step-on tours, giving groups a panoramic view of the city, complete with stops at iconic museums. Whether you're exploring the historic heart of Glasgow or taking a trip through Edinburgh's old or new towns, my tours always include a blend of cultural and historical storytelling.
What to Expect:
- Private Tours: These are fully tailored to your interests, whether
it's whisky, food, or uncovering the medieval past. I specialise
in finding hidden spots that even locals might not know about.
Most of my tours are walking tours. Should your party wish to tour by car or coach instead, I am happy to help you find and book transport to suit your needs. - Step-On Tours: Perfect for groups, I can join your coach tour to give you a broad view of the city's history and culture, including visits to famous landmarks and lesser-known gems.
One of my signature tours is a medieval-themed experience, where I can dress in full period costume—hand-sewn by me!—to bring history to life in a way that's both immersive and authentic.
A Little More About Me
When I'm not guiding tours, I enjoy sewing, especially creating historically accurate costumes. My passion for whisky and Scottish cuisine also runs deep, so don't hesitate to ask for recommendations! Though history is my primary focus, my love for science, nature, and family always finds a way into my stories. I look forward to sharing the beauty and history of Scotland with you!
